Kilimanjaro Airports Development Company (KADCO) has signed an agreement with Thenex GmbH, a company based in Germany, for the purchase of two new fire fighting vehicles expected to be delivered by September 2016.
The agreement was signed at Kilimanjaro International Airport on the 7th of October 2015 by KADCO’s Acting Managing Director Mr. Bakari Murusuri and Thenex GMBH’s Chief Executive Officer Mr. Theo-Heinz Nientimp and witnessed by officials from both parties.
Upon delivery in 2016, the new fire tenders will replace two among the four firefighting vehicles currently in service. This move is set to improve services to airlines flying at the airport as well as enhancing safety through state of the art technology currently prevailing in Airports Rescue and Fire Fighting Services.
Kilimanjaro International Airport’s Rescue and Fire Fighting Service is ranked at Category 9 as per International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) RFFS category Chart.
